Vo Le Que Anh Makes it to Top 15 "Grand Voice" Round Of Miss Grand International 2024
Vietnam's Vo Le Que Anh has captured attention by making it to the Top 15 in the "Grand Voice" competition at Miss Grand International 2024, thanks to her standout performance of an English song. Held on October 9 in Bangkok, Thailand, the preliminary round featured 72 contestants from around the globe, each showcasing their musical creativity, vocal prowess, and choreography skills.
Que Anh made a striking entrance in a short, fringed dress, delivering a dynamic rendition of Like That by Korean group BabyMonster. Her captivating rap and stage presence secured her a spot in the Top 30, propelling her to the next round. Her performance earned high praise from Mr. Nawat, the Chairman of Miss Grand International, who admired her vocal talent and even called her a "singer." Que Anh, however, modestly denied the title, though she expressed her passion for music.
In the second round, Que Anh chose the heartfelt song Everytime We Touch. Although she seemed slightly breathless and shaky at moments, her emotional performance ensured her place among the Top 15. This achievement follows her previous success in reaching the Top 5 of the Grand Voice competition at Miss Grand Vietnam 2024.
The Top 15 in this year’s Grand Voice category includes representatives from Vietnam, the UK, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Norway, Greenland, Trinidad & Tobago, the USA, France, Kosovo, Malaysia, Canada, Venezuela, Hong Kong (China), and the Philippines. Other standout performances included Prema Lamgade from Nepal, known for her powerful vocals, and Kosovo’s Engjellushe Zhuniqi, a 26-year-old singer who charmed the audience with her emotional delivery. Aya Kadjo from Ivory Coast also made an impact with her unique style and a performance inspired by the competition.
Many contestants, however, found the Grand Voice round challenging, as singing is not their strong suit. The competition continues with the delegates participating in various cultural events in Pattaya, Chonburi Province, from October 11 to 16. They will then return to Bangkok for preliminary events leading up to the grand finale on October 25.
Que Anh, who represents Vietnam in this international competition, has an impressive track record. Born in 2001 in Quang Nam, she previously won Miss Hue University 2020, made the Top 40 in Miss Vietnam 2020, and was the First Runner-up in Miss Tourism Da Nang 2022. She holds a degree in Korean Language and Culture from Hue University.
