Punjab Government Excludes Homeopathic Doctors, Eliminates Homeopathic Treatment
The provision of homeopathic treatment in the province of Punjab has come to an end with the recent decision made by the provincial government. Homeopathic doctors and the staff involved in manufacturing homeopathic medicine will no longer hold any positions.
The posts of homeopathic doctors in government hospitals and hikmah posts have been abolished, effectively ceasing the availability of homeopathic healthcare in the public sector. The Punjab health department has clarified that this decision aims to promote allopathic medicine, and funds for alternative treatments will now be exclusively allocated to allopathic methods.
Kashif Malik, the head of the Homeopathic Alliance, has expressed his concerns regarding this decision. He appeals to the Punjab caretaker chief minister, urging a reconsideration and the reinstatement of seats for homeopathic doctors. He warns that if the vacancies are not restored, a nationwide protest will be initiated.
The exclusion of homeopathic treatment in Punjab has sparked debates concerning the accessibility and availability of diverse healthcare options.
