Your never-ending quest for niche has resulted in a price surge of vintage gadgets.

Quick, rummage through your storage and dig out any of the below – you could be hoarding some serious cash, according to Endsleigh Insurance which collected its data from eBay.

And learn from the mistakes of this woman, who threw out an Apple 1 computer worth £130,000.

1. Nokia 3310 – £200

SNAKE. Forget the dawn of text messaging – it was all about Snake. Now the iconic phone has reached the giddy heights of more than £200 on many auction sites.

2. Gamecube – £1,000

The Gamecube was only around for six sweet years, but this short-lived console is now worth a grand. Game of choice: Super Smash Bros Melee.

3. Dreamcast – £800

The consule keeps on giving. Dreamcast’s popularity hasn’t dwindled since its launch in 1999.

4. First Generation iPod – £9,793

If you’ve opened it (because you wanted to use it or something stupid) then it’s worth around £650.

5. Sony Walkman Cassette – £200

The humble cassette player has had a hipster resurgence, and you can snap up one of these vintage delights for a couple of hundy. Nice.

And if you’ve still got one of those Sony Walkman CD players then you could get £390.
