Study reveals that 3 out of 10 teachers do not know how to create or manage virtual classrooms
Researchers from the School of Education of the Andrés Bello Catholic University concluded that only 6% of almost 5,000 educators surveyed believe they are experts in the management of Information and Communication Technologies.
A study carried out by researchers from the School of Education of the Andrés Bello Catholic University, on the knowledge of information and communication technologies, revealed that 3 out of 10 teachers in Venezuela do not know how to create and manage virtual classrooms.
In 2020, the application of these tools became mandatory for students to receive classes given the restrictions established by the detection of covid cases in the country.
Professor Alejandro del Mar pointed out, during the IV Congress of Educational Innovation of UCAB, he indicated that 35.7% expressed that they have sufficient skills to create documents and multimedia files, edit images, audio and videos; while 32.1% consider their management of Information and Communication Technologies intermediate.
The research also indicates that only 6% believe they are an expert in the area.
The results were based on a survey of 4,650 educators from all over the country to assess their knowledge of technology and its pedagogical application, says a press release from UCAB. Read More…
