Sofia Music Weeks to Feature 100+ Events

"Unity in Diversity" is the motto of this year’s Sofia Music Weeks, which will run from May 23 to June 30, the organizers of the international music festival announced on Wednesday.
More than 100 events are planned with over 400 participants from 18 countries - Austria, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Israel, Canada, China, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Russia, USA, Serbia, France, South Korea, Japan.
The focus will be on MYX'D (among the ensemble), violinist Mincho Minchev (among the artista), symphony music (genre), percussions (instrument), Austria (country), and Assen Avramov (composer).
A number of anniversaries will also be celebrated, including the 190th anniversary of Johannes Brahms, 150th of Sergei Rachmaninov and Fyodor Chaliapin, 125th George Gershwin and the centenary of Bulgarian composers Dobrin Petkov, Peter Stupel, György Ligeti, Maria Kalas. Read More..
