Through a press release, the singer artist, El maestro expressed his concern about the nominations for the Raaya awards. The interpreter of "Moulaye thieuguine love" judges that there is a lack of transparency and favoritism in the appointment of certain artists. He therefore asked the organizers of the "Raaya awards" to remove him from the list and from all the posters of the nominees for the best clip of the year category and invites his fans to abstain from voting for him.
Contacted by Seneweb to find out more about the reasons for his withdrawal, the kangam, as he is nicknamed, evokes the opacity of the selection criteria. "This kind of project should be supported by the State of Senegal through the Ministry of Culture or other institutions such as Sodav among others," he said.
The artist says he cannot conceive “that an average person organizes this kind of event to enrich themselves on the backs of voters, and deliver cheap trophies to the winners and then collect their money artists deserve better than that ".
