Opening of the International Book Fair in Riyadh: An imposing Tunisian pavilion in the spotlight
On the occasion of the opening yesterday of the International Book Fair in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) which continues until next October 8 and where Tunisia is the guest of honor, the director of cabinet of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and head of the official Tunisian delegation, Lassaad Saïd, in a statement to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) agency, mentioned that our country is present through 16 publishing houses and numerous cultural events in which symbols of thought and the various leading figures of literature and science, academics and creators, take part and take part in some fifteen cultural activities among the various events scheduled at the fair.
He added that this important presence is an opportunity to highlight the Tunisian particularity in various creative fields, such as cinema and the novel, and in the cultural sector as well as in discussion forums which will focus on the specificities of creativity. , especially those of women. It is also about publicizing Tunisian books and authors and the publishing sector in general in Tunisia.

Regarding the importance of Tunisian participation, he indicated that this fair will immediately strengthen the relations of cooperation and collaboration between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, the host country, on the one hand, and between the Tunisia and the countries participating in this important exhibition, on the other hand. In this regard, he informed that the fair's organizing committee has reserved pavilions for Tunisia bearing the names of its cities, such as the Kairouan Theater and the Carthage Theater, considering that this initiative is important to strengthen the presence Tunisian in Saudi Arabia and in the Gulf countries in general.
For her part, Radhia Habassi Ergui, director of arts at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and responsible for the Tunisian pavilion at the fair, explained that the pavilion includes a variety of publications from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and a number of institutions. under it, in this case the Agency for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage and Promotion (Amvppc), the Institute of Translation of Tunis, the National Library of Tunisia (BNT), the Center for Arab and Mediterranean Music (Ennejma Ezzahra) and the National Center for Cultural Communication.
