Mahdia: La Corniche declared the first ecological beach in Tunisia
Corniche Beach in Mahdia was announced on Saturday as the first ecological beach in Tunisia, during the European Cooperation Day celebrated in Tunisia as part of the activities of Med Dé.Co.U.Plages, a cross-border project, between Italy and Tunisia, co-financed by the European Union.
According to the coordinator of the project, which began in 2020 and continues until 2023, the beach of Mahdia was chosen from 162 applications, to obtain the "Ecological Beach" label thanks to the notable evolution observed in the practices related with environmental protection.
The day was furnished through fun activities in which young people from the region took part, including a visit to the remains of the city, a campaign to clean up the seabed as well as workshops related to the theme of the "Label Ecological”.
The program of this project, co-financed by the EU to the tune of 1.2 MD also includes a theatrical performance, choreography, a photographic exhibition as well as a parade of bicycles for young cyclists. Read More…
