186 students affected after fire outbreak at Bibiani College of Health
Anhweaso, located in the Western North Region, recently witnessed a distressing incident as a fire broke out at the Bibiani College of Health. This unfortunate event resulted in two individuals being admitted to the Bibiani Government Hospital. The incident occurred in the municipality of Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwai, affecting a total of 186 students.
Raymond Appiah, the Public Relations Officer of the Bibiani Fire Service, provided detailed information about the incident to Adom News. At around 11:06 am, the college contacted the fire service to report the outbreak. Swiftly responding to the distress call, a team of firefighters was dispatched to the scene. They effectively contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other areas.
Tragically, the flames engulfed three dormitories, causing the destruction of the students' personal belongings. Speaking to Adom News, some of the affected students expressed their dismay at the loss of their mattresses, books, certificates, money, and other valuable items. They appealed to the authorities for assistance during this challenging time.
Additionally, it was revealed that the smoke from the fire triggered undisclosed medical conditions in two students, requiring immediate medical attention for them. Paul Andoh, the Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani Anhweaso Bekwai, expressed deep concern over the incident. He assured the public that the assembly would exert every effort to support the victims and the college as a whole.
The aftermath of the fire outbreak has left the Bibiani College of Health and its students facing significant challenges as they strive to recover from the incurred losses.
