Your favorite Canadian shows with LGBTQ characters
Some of the world's most loved (think 'Degrassi') and critically-acclaimed ('Orphan Black,' for one) shows with LGBTQ characters are Canadian. But, as you'll see, the Canadian television industry is so small that these shows are all connected one way or another.
In this gallery, we'll remind you of your favorite Canadian shows with LGBTQ characters (whether you know they're Canadian or not), and we'll give you some new shows to look forward to.
'Degrassi' - The 'Degrassi' franchise has included several LGBTQ characters throughout its many series. Pictured here is Adamo Ruggiero, who played Marco Del Rossi.
'Coroner' - Starring Serinda Swan (pictured), the show features Ross (Ehren Kassam) and Matteo (Graeme Jokic), who are dating. Kassam is known for appearing on several seasons of 'Degrassi.'
'Wynonna Earp' - Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley, left) and Nicole (Katherine Barrell) from 'Wynonna Earp' earned their "ship" name, WayHaught, in all the senses. The show also includes other LGBTQ characters, like Rosita (played by Tamara Duarte, who portrayed a lesbian teen on 'Degrassi').
'Burden of Truth' - Molly Ross (Sara Thompson, pictured) and Luna Spence (Star Slade) are in a relationship on this show. Varun Saranga, who plays gay character Jeremy on 'Wynonna Earp,' also appears on the show.
'Letterkenny' - Queer character Katy (played by Michelle Mylett) is one of the main players on this show.
'Workin' Moms' - Dani Kind (left) of 'Wynonna Earp' also appears on 'Workin' Moms,' which features lesbian main character Frankie (Juno Rinaldi, center). Read More...
