Sony slashes price on flagship Xperia XZ1 (and throws in a freebie) making it an absolute bargain
The Sony Xperia XZ1 was only revealed back in September - but the Japanese company has already decided to slash the price of its flagship handset.
It's dropped £200 from the price of the phone, bringing it down to £599 - which makes it much more affordable than Apple's iPhone X.
The deal gets even sweeter as Sony says it'll throw in an Xperia Ear for free when you buy the phone from its official store .
The Xperia Ear, worth £179, is a wireless earpiece that connects directly to your phone and lets you send and receive messages, check your schedule, search the web all just by using your voice.
Naturally it works well with the Xperia XZ1 which itself is no slouch.
The flagship 5.2-inch phone is water and dust resistant, has the latest processor on board and an excellent Motion Eye camera lifted from Sony's Cyber-shot camera series.
We gave the phone five stars in our review , with The Mirror's Trevor Davies saying it had broken his iPhone habit.
"It’s as if Sony has thought about the really important survival tool basics of a phone, like battery, call clarity, toughness, and screen sharpness, delivering on these first – then adding some fun areas for entertainment," he said.
"It's like a good football manager setting up a rock solid defence, before thinking about the attack."
