Man made his millions, retired at 27, then got bored three weeks later

Don’t worry, you’re just one day closer to retirement.

But is that what you really want?

Jon Carder thought so and after selling his business for $10million (£6.6million) at the age of 27, he decided it was time to call it a day.

He had a retirement party then spent three weeks travelling, surfing and catching up with friends.

Sadly for Jon, from California, it wasn’t all it seemed and so he decided to go back to work.

‘I realized that although being an entrepreneur was stressful and excruciating at times, it was so much more fulfilling to be building something that was making a positive impact on people’s lives than it was to be doing nothing.’

He made his money in Client Shop, a comparison website that helps house-hunters find the best loans.

His success was so quick that he said his mother thought he had started dealing drugs when she saw his first car.

First he tried a website that gave people the lowdown on local businesses, but then he discovered Yelp and realised he couldn’t compete.

But now, nine years into retirement, he runs Mogl, an app that lets you ‘earn cash-back at your favourite restaurants discreetly’.
