Ethereum Foundation's Devcon 7 Set to Elevate Thailand's Tech Scene in November

Devcon 7, the Ethereum Foundation’s premier developer and community conference, is set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 12-15, 2024. This landmark event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), bringing together developers, innovators, and thought leaders from around the globe. It marks a significant milestone for Thailand's growing tech and crypto community.

Devcon 7 will serve as a melting pot of ideas, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants in the blockchain and decentralized technology space. Building on the success of Devcon 6 in Bogotá, which hosted 6,000 attendees and featured 444 speakers across 200 hours of programming, this year's event aims to set new records. The conference will cover both technical and non-technical content, exploring the future of Ethereum and broader topics in technology, computing, and society.

Often referred to as "The World Computer," Ethereum is a decentralized network that enables applications and protocols to be censorship-resistant, interoperable, and transparent. It represents a global movement driven by a cooperative community of developers and researchers, with a long-term vision to positively impact humanity through new technological, societal, and economic alternatives.

Attendees can expect to engage in in-depth discussions with Ethereum researchers and practitioners, discover emerging applications, and gain insights into the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape. The conference will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including:

- Vitalik Buterin, Co-founder of Ethereum

- Aya Miyaguchi, Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation

- Roger Dingledine, Co-founder of The Tor Project

- Hart Montgomery, CTO at the Linux Foundation

- Founders from Southeast Asia, including Matthew Tan (Etherscan), TN Lee (Pendle), and Loi Luu (Kyber Network & Caliber)

- Sreeram Kannan, Founder of EigenLayer

Hosting Devcon 7 in Bangkok highlights Thailand's growing prominence in the global tech arena. The event is expected to invigorate the local tech and crypto scenes, providing unparalleled opportunities for networking and collaboration while showcasing Thailand as a hub for innovation in Southeast Asia.
