Zulia Educational Zone continues to inspect flooded schools to receive students
Until now, the Educational Zone of Zulia maintains inspections in the schools that have been reported with floods and once the details are known, they will issue a report and order their operation.
The ravages of nature have hit the South of the Lake with force. Last Wednesday, September 28, the second retaining wall was broken, this time in the Catatumbo River, located in the Guasimales sector.
The director of the Zulia Educational Zone (ZEZ), Dorelis Echeto, reported from the El Rull sector, Udón Pérez parish in the Catatumbo municipality, located south of Lake Maracaibo, that as a result of the incessant rains that have fallen in the Zulia territory there are more than 100 schools flooded.
This subregion has been one of the most affected by the rainfall, to the point that the retaining wall that protects the communities of the Zulia and Catatumbo rivers already has two breaks as a result of the force of both flows.
The highest authority of basic and secondary education in the entity, assured that they have "a national government facing the people, we are going to try to guarantee boys and girls the education they all deserve."
The first rupture occurred five months ago in the Zulia River, at kilometer 43, impacting communities of the Udón Pérez parish and sectors of Encontrados, capital of the Catatumbo municipality. Read More…
