As part of WhatsApp updates to improve the consumer experience, the instant messaging platform plans to launch a new feature that will allow its users to create channels within the application, reports the specialized Wabetainfo portal.
According to reports, in the beta version of the latest WhatsApp update for Android systems, 2.23.8.6, the developers have started adding the Channels feature, still under construction, designed to disseminate information to one or more recipients, and that allows users to easily receive updates from other accounts.

The operation is similar to that of a blog, which can have an unlimited number of subscribers and where only administrators can publish messages, while the rest of the users are limited to reading and sharing them.
As reported, the channels feature will be available as a separate and optional section within the Updates tab.
These will hide the phone numbers and other personal information of the participants. However, communication through these will not be end-to-end encrypted. Read More…
