Volodin revealed the cards: War will definitely not be declared at an emergency meeting of the State Duma
The reasons for holding an emergency meeting of the State Duma of Russia on July 15, 2022 were revealed by speaker Volodin
All week the parliament held a dramatic pause, for which the State Duma was urgently pulled from the summer holidays to an extraordinary meeting. The forthcoming session became known on Sunday, July 10, and a more or less intelligible comment appeared only on Thursday.
And here are the plans and reasons for the deputies for an emergency meeting of the State Duma of Russia this Friday, July 15, 2022.
NEW LAWS
The agenda of the bills is more or less known. Over the past couple of weeks, more than 60 documents have been submitted to parliament, but 16 will be considered on Friday.
Volodin revealed the reasons for holding the State Duma of Russia, which is scheduled for July 15, 2022. The Parliament does not plan to deal with the budget, issues of “war and peace”, “status of the state border”, international treaties ...
That is, all those forecasts of political scientists that have fallen since the beginning of the week have not materialized. And how many versions there were: “we will now declare war on Ukraine”, “we will join the DPR and LPR”, “we will turn off gas to Europe” ... Everything turned out to be more prosaic and simpler.
The State Duma confirmed that on Friday they would consider a bill on granting the status of combat veterans to border guards who got into a special operation. They will receive benefits for paying utility bills and travel.
Apparently, first of all, the parliament will deal with bills sent down from the government. The agenda has not been fully named, but the deputies will probably consider:
- Amendments to the Criminal Code, which will allow convicts with especially serious articles to be transferred from prison to forced labor earlier. That is, they will sit behind bars less - this, as stated in the explanatory note, will help their socialization.
- Simplified registration of pensions through the use of new technologies.
Interestingly, the Federation Council will not meet separately to consider these documents. It turns out that Article 105 of the constitution says that if the senators do not review the laws sent down from the Duma within two weeks, then the documents will be adopted automatically. Read More…
