The first book is by Nobuaki Notohara. The Japanese writer has spent 40 years of his life traveling to Arab capitals, countrysides and villages and following and translating Arabic literature. He offers an interesting testimony on the Arab world in his book “The Arabs, a Japanese point of view”.
The second book is that of Ali Mahjoubi, entitled “The neo-renaissance in the 19th century, why it failed in Egypt and Tunisia and succeeded in Japan”. This is a "comparative study" between Japan on the one hand and Tunisia and Egypt on the other, in order to understand why the Japanese were able to rise to the rank of developed countries, while Tunisia and Egypt have failed in this mission.
