Teachers call national strike
The teachers unions have announced a national strike for November 2, in protest against the alleged lack of investment by the Government in education exposed in the State Budget proposal for 2023.
The National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof), National Federation of Education (FNE), National and Democratic Union of Teachers (SINDEP), Association of Licensed Teachers (ASPL) and National Union of Teachers Licensed by Polytechnics and Universities (SPLIU), among others platforms, demand the valorisation of the teaching career, the fight against precariousness and the need to promote the rejuvenation of the sector.
According to the various union structures associated with teachers and educators, who have already submitted the strike notice, November 2 was chosen to coincide the national strike with the intervention of the Minister of Education, João Costa, in the Assembly of Republic, in defense of the budget proposal for the sector next year.
