"Smyrna, My Beloved" Soon on Netflix
Following the triumphant launch of Maestro, Smyrna, My Beloved has been selected as the next Greek production to grace Netflix's digital platform. The well-established subscription-based service has been in close communication with Tanweer, the production company behind the film's celebrated star, Mimi Denisi, for many moons. This communication demonstrates their sincere interest in enlisting her services.
The contracts have been finalized with the primary streaming company, as stated by Mikro Fwno, and the announcement of its debut date is anticipated. Henceforth, "Smyrna, My Beloved" joins the list of other cinematic pieces to be included in the digital library of the streaming giant.
Christoforos Papakaliatis' Maestro made history by becoming the first Greek series to make an appearance on the widespread digital platform. As for the aforementioned film, it has already experienced great success on the silver screens in the United States and Australia. Moreover, negotiations are underway with production companies in China and Russia to bring it to theaters in those countries.
It is essential to note that Netflix will offer two distinct options for viewership of the film: one in Greek, accompanied by subtitles, and the other in a dubbed format. Additionally, it is worthwhile to mention that Mimi Denisi is currently in discussions for the projection of "Smyrna, My Beloved's" continuation, with the upcoming season exploring their lives in Thessaloniki following their uprooting from Asia Minor.
