Serbia's Teachers Union announces strike and shorter classes
Serbia’s Teachers Union (SPRS) has said on Wednesday it will go on strike on March 17, 21 and 31 and shorten classes from 45 to 30 minutes.
The decision on the strike was brought last December. The Union added that protest walks and rallies would be organised at noon on March 17 in Belgrade and on March 31 across Serbia.
The Union demands a reduction in the number of students in classes to a maximum of 24, a salary correction by 12 percent and the payment of a third of the debt of 20,000 dinars (170 euros).
The Union said that the demands included changes in the Education Law and social dialogue. Read More…
