Release of “Sultan†by Alune Wade: Like an initiatory journey
The rhythms and sounds emerging from “Sultan” mix Sufi, Andalusian chant, afrobeat, oriental Maqams and jazz. Routes led to Dakar, Oran, Tunis, Tambouctou take shape musically. Pieces that tell and mix the past and the present of these countries: their stories, and their burning news are sung. Highlighting this musical heritage is the unconditional richness of this album. Supported by the French Institute of Tunisia, this musical project was carried out in collaboration with musicians, such as Adriano Tenorio DD on percussion, Cédric Ducheman on piano and keyboards, Carlos Sarduy on trumpet, Hugues Mayot on saxophone, Daril Esso on battery, etc other instrumentalists on drums, guembri , flute, Oud , rappers, singers, drummers participated in this sound outpouring.

The 12 tracks of the album "Saba's journey", "Donso", "Sultan", "Nasty sand", "Uthiopic", "Portrait de Maure", "Djolof Blues", "Dalaka", "L'ombre de l 'soul', 'Lullaby for Sultan', 'Celebration' and 'Café Oran' sing diverse territories and exceptional musical richness.
Alune Wade is a Senegalese bassist, performer, producer, author and composer. 4 albums have already been made "Mbolo" (2006), "Ayo Nene" (2011), "Havana Paris Dakar" made with Cuban pianist Harold Lopez-Nussa in 2015 and "African Fast Food" in 2018. "Sultan" has was partly produced at Villa Salammbô as part of an artistic residency including Tunisian participating musicians, Salah Barka for the costumes and the artist photographer Hela Ammar for the photos.
