Public workers start the week with street protests throughout the country
In the city of Caracas, hundreds of workers marched down Avenida Baralt to demand a new collective contract, wages indexed to the dollar, as well as the payment of their bonuses and funeral services.
Public workers began another week of protest with street actions in various states of the country. The demonstrations, led by the teachers' union and the health sector, have been held since the beginning of January due to the lack of timely responses from the government.

The protesters marched to the headquarters of the Supreme Court of Justice to request a response on the appeal introduced in September 2022, before the Political-Administrative Chamber, against the Onapre instructive.
Another group of teachers, retirees and pensioners protested on Bolívar Avenue in the city of Los Teques, Miranda state, in front of the Caracas Residences, where the Human Resources headquarters of the Government are located.
The teachers entered the spaces of the public entity to demand that Carolina Díaz, director of education of the Governorate, attend to their requests.
With songs and raising the national flag, teachers, public employees and workers from different unions held a protest on Monday called the march of dignity, in the streets of Cumaná, Sucre state. Read More…
