Old games and on the new PlayStation: Sony has created a team to preserve old games
The company is now even more determined to preserve the old games.
According to the announcements on Twitter, Sony has hired engineers who will work in the so-called "Preservation" team that was formed in order to never forget the beginnings of the gaming industry.
It is still not entirely clear what the conservation team will be working on, or what the company's ultimate goals are. Sony is certainly not known for preserving old games. Many PS1 games ran on PS2. Later, however, the situation changed and the titles of previous generations did not work on the PS4.
The PS5, on the other hand, supports most PS4 titles, but not games older than that.
The good thing is that Sony is increasingly focusing on preserving old games, while earlier non-profit organizations and fan-led projects were at the forefront on that front.
The Xbox, on the other hand, treats old titles somewhat differently.
