NGOs present list of candidates to integrate the Electoral Commission of Primary Opposition
Before the nomination process for candidates to form the opposition Primary Electoral Commission closed, members of the Ciela Foundation, Sumando Voluntades Foundation and the Gente de Sucre organization came together to propose a large list of names that they aspire to contribute satisfactorily to the development of such an important process.
The representatives of these organizations highlighted that the list is made up of 21 personalities with extensive political, academic and social careers.
"We hope that these 21 names are taken into account for the appointment of the primary electoral commission, since we consider that they are highly credible people, known for their impeccable morals." This is how it is read in the letter sent to the executive secretary of the Unitarian Platform, Omar Barboza.
NGOs present list of candidates for opposition primaries commission
The representatives of Fundación Ciela, Fundación Sumando Voluntades and the organization Gente de Sucre agree that the primary elections represent a necessary process for the country, which requires transparency and reliability. That is why they assure that the only objective of their proposal is to contribute to the good development of such an important event.
They argued that in order to achieve a successful primary process, which would subsequently lead us to the long-awaited success and to the democratic reconstruction of the country, it is strictly necessary that the primary electoral commission be made up of respectable personalities and that they have the necessary credentials to impart confidence in society, such as:
– Ruth Capriles: BA in History and PhD in Political Science. Member of the Coordinating Team of the Veedores Network. Postgraduate professor at UCAB.
