Migration published the new fee for Guatemalan passports
The Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM) released a recent document, Agreement Number IGM 029-2023, on May 9, 2023, which was published in the Diario de Centro América. The document outlines a revised rate for Guatemalan passports, with some rates remaining unchanged while new charges have been introduced for sticker-only renewals.
Specifically, the agreement published the Fee Regulations for Immigration Services, which establishes the charges for various immigration-related services. Pursuant to the Migration Law's regulations, the fees for all migratory procedures in Guatemala are payable in quetzals and calculated in U.S. dollars based on the current exchange rate.

The updated fees for Guatemalan passports and related travel documents are as follows, and were published in the Diario de Centro América:
• Guatemalan ordinary passport or its renewal valid for 5 years US$50.00
• Guatemalan ordinary passport or its renewal valid for 10 years US$85.00
• Official Guatemalan passport US$30.00 • Guatemalan diplomat or its renewal US$30.00 • Replacement of ordinary Guatemalan passport US$25.00
• Special travel document for refugees US$10.00
• Extension of validity of ordinary Guatemalan passport by means of a sticker, valid for 18 months. This is free of charge and can be processed only once.
• Extension of validity of ordinary Guatemalan passport by means of a sticker, valid for 3 years. US$20.00 and can only be done once.
• Aside from passports, temporary resident permits, Guatemalan visas, and other immigration-related procedures can be carried out at the Migration office, as well as the Sub-directorate of Immigration and Immigration Control.
• Moreover, it is essential to remember that appointments can be made online and rescheduled if necessary.
• Finally, it is now possible to apply for a passport valid for 10 years in both Guatemala and the United States.
