Lukashenko Confirms Plans to Develop Fair Pricing Formula by April 1
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has confirmed the government's commitment to developing a fair pricing formula by April 1. This announcement came during a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin on March 18, where Lukashenko received an update on the progress of this initiative.
During the meeting, Lukashenko referenced a previous discussion held on February 28, 2025, where Turchin, then serving as a governor, expressed opposition to the concept of a pricing formula. The president inquired about Turchin's current perspective in his new role as head of government, emphasizing the importance of creating a pricing structure that would not impose undue pressure on entrepreneurs, producers, or consumers.
Lukashenko reiterated the government's promise to the public, highlighting the need for a pricing formula that balances the interests of all stakeholders involved. The initiative aims to address economic challenges while ensuring fairness and stability in the market. The development of this formula is seen as a crucial step in fostering a more equitable economic environment in Belarus.
