Inflation at 3.7% in June
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported that consumer prices in Hungary increased by 3.7% on average in June 2024 compared to the previous year.
Food prices increased by 1.1 percent in comparison to June 2023, with 27.4 percent for sugar, 9.2 percent for buffet items, 9.1 percent for chocolate and cocoa, 8.7 percent for fruit and vegetable juices, 8.1 percent for restaurant meals, 7.8 percent for pork, and 5.6 percent for non-alcoholic beverages. Inside the item bunch, egg costs diminished by 22.3%, the cost of flour by 19.2%, that of milk items by 10.2%, pasta item costs by 10%, the cost of bread by 8.2%, that of milk by 6.2% and poultry meat costs by 5.5%.
Administrations became 9.7% more costly, inside which rents were up by 13.1% and individual consideration administrations became 10.7%, motorway use, leasing an engine vehicle and leaving 10.5%, the maintenance and support of vehicles 10.1%, the maintenance and support of residences 9.8%, other public diversion tickets 8.2% and sporting administrations 3.0% more costly.
Cocktails and tobacco costs rose by 4.2%, inside which the cost of tobacco by 4.7%.
Pharmaceutical products saw increases of 6.1% and toiletries by 2.1%, respectively. The cost of footwear and clothing increased by 4.1%. Natural and manufactured gas were 5.2% and 2.4% cheaper than electricity, gas, and other fuels, respectively.
Food costs reduced by 0.3% overall, predominantly attributable to a 4.4% reduction in the cost of occasional food things. Food costs barring this gathering increased 0.2% by and large. Notwithstanding the abovementioned, sugar costs were scaled down by 2.1%, the cost of eggs by 1.7% and that of other meat arrangements by 1.1%, while espresso and chocolate and cocoa costs both expanded by 1.2%, the cost of smorgasbord items by 0.9%, that of poultry meat by 0.6% and milk costs by 0.3%.
Buyers paid 1.3% less for shopper durables, inside which the cost of recycled traveler vehicles was cut by 8.8% and that of new traveler vehicles expanded by 5.7%, living and lounge area furniture costs by 2.1%, the cost of kitchen and other furniture by 1.9% and that of warming and cooking apparatuses by 0.8%.
Engine fills became 3.2% more costly.
