Between 150 and 200 dollars were charged for giving places inside the Matilde Hidalgo de Procel Maternity, located in Guasmo (Guayaquil) to pregnant women, according to citizen complaints . Given this, the Ministry of Health reported that it filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office.
The complaint indicates the crime of alleged influence peddling , and that the irregular acts were already under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office.

"We are intervening comprehensively in this health home and carrying out the necessary administrative procedures to remove the personnel involved in acts of corruption ," the MSP said in an official statement.
