Ad portas to the start of the 2022 school year, the Ministry of Education has reinforced the obligation to attend the classroom, regardless of the phase in which the communes are in according to the Step by Step plan. An instruction that responds to the need to strengthen student learning and emotional well-being. Leaving behind the hybrid modality, the supporters of educational establishments are working to prepare the spaces to ensure a safe environment and once again strengthen the trust of the communities in the face of the third wave of Covid-19 infections.
In this sense, the Llanquihue Local Public Education Service emphasizes that it has put its efforts, during the summer period, in improving spaces and accesses to promote a safe environment for students and the entire Educational Community. “Our focus has been on improving the environment, sanitizing common spaces, classrooms, bathrooms, and offices. Ensuring in this way a clean and sanitized space to receive our students, and in turn, having all the necessary supplies to comply with the protocols established by the authorities, because attendance is essential for student learning and their emotional well-being. ”, says the Director Claudia Trillo.
As for the protocols established by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, they point to the obligation of attendance and the return of the full school day. The authorities have emphasized health prevention measures, where the Llanquihue Local Public Education Service recalls that all Establishments have a protocol to proceed in the event of suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19, which provides specific instructions to address different scenarios, and that these protocols are in accordance with what is indicated by the health authority regarding epidemiological surveillance in educational contexts.
In this line, the Director Claudia Trillo insists that no establishment may require that its students be vaccinated to enter the classroom, since everyone has the right to receive an education that offers them opportunities for their training and comprehensive development "We reinforce our commitment to deliver a quality education for all, we need to recover the gardens, schools and high schools as spaces for comprehensive development, meet again in the classrooms to strengthen the learning and emotional well-being of our students”.
