Every local class and school closure as two-day teacher strike begins
Some will be impacted both days, others just one
Pupils at some schools in our area face not being in school for two days as teachers are going on strike again. Today (March 15) marks the first of what is two days of action by National Education Union (NEU) members.
They are walking out in the ongoing dispute over pay. And this means that some schools are unable to open fully or will not open at all.
While NEU members do not have to give prior notification if they intend to join in the industrial action until the day, some have given advance notice.
That has allowed schools to pre-plan what to do. It has led to some headteachers either choosing to close classes, year groups or shutting the school completely.
