BRATISLAVA: Environmental police from the department in the Slovak town of Žilina detained three Czech citizens who were transporting an illegally caught female brown bear, the Slovak police announced today.
"Based on the facts established so far, a criminal investigation has been initiated due to the violation of the law on the protection of plants and animals," the police pointed out.
If the suspects are found guilty, they face up to five years in prison, according to the TASR agency. The police added that they are working on the case and are unable to provide more details at this time. Read More…
