“Directorasâ€, a film series directed by women, is presented at the Bosque Nativo Cultural Center
During the month of March, and as part of the activities of the Bosque Nativo Cultural Center, through which the space commemorates the Month of Women, the Film Series 'Directors' will be presented, which seeks to make visible the role of women in audiovisual production.
Composed of six feature films, directed by women in different parts of the world, the cycle began on Tuesday, March 1 with the screening of the film 'God is a woman and his name is Peturniya' (2019), directed from Macedonia by Teona Mitevska. “It is a work of interesting, realistic, well-constructed characters, from a place so distant from us but with such similar cultural clashes that they are impressive. A script that provides insights of great value for anyone who is interested in learning about other realities that end up being their own”, comments Iván Cárdenas, producer of the activity.
The film series will also present the films 'Hive' (2021), directed by the Albanian Blerta Basholli, winner of the Grand Jury awards, Best Direction and Audience Award at Sundance; Sybil (2019), a vertiginous psychological story by the French Justine Triet; Las Niñas (2020), debut feature by the Spanish Pilar Palomero; Mickey and the Bear (2019), a contemporary story about filial love directed by the American Annabelle Attanasio; and 'Las Venas del Mundo' (2020), a documentary directed by the Oscar nominee Byambasuren Davaa, of Mongolian origin, where, with a feminine gaze, she confronts the contingent environmental and cultural conflict between extractive exploitation and peasant life in a country of enormous extensions.
The film series will take place every Tuesday in March, and on Tuesday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bosque Nativo Cultural Center (Av. Vicente Pérez Rosales 1305, Puerto Varas), capacity is limited and registration can be made by email at [email protected]. Read More…
