Dilemma Of Delocalized Heads Without Schools To Head As Others Refuse To Go Back To Their Homes
Teachers service commission is constitutionally mandated to register, hire, promote and exercise disciplinary control over teachers in both primary and secondary schools in the country.
Recently, the commission embarked on reversing the controversial policy on delocalization after Parliament rejected it.
The process has been going on although hitches have been realized making it difficult to go on as smoothly as expected.
Whereas in some schools head teachers and principals have been moved out having expressed interest in going back home, others have refused to go back home.
Given that no body is going to be forced out of a place, it has created another problem whereby those head teachers and principals willing to go back home are finding it hard to get new stations to Head.
Its against this backdrop that kiambu east and west Kenya national union of teachers (KNUT) Secretary general samwel kamau is calling upon the commission to Force these heads who have refused to go back to their homes to leave.
A number of the heads in kiambu county came from neighboring counties such as Murang'a, Machakos, Narock and Kajiado at the height of delocalization.
"Teachers want to come back to kiambu but those from other counties have said they will not leave", said kamau. Read More…
