Daniel Pérez Mora donates sculpture to the city of Caracas
Renowned visual artist Daniel Pérez Mora has once again contributed to the beautification of Caracas by donating another large-scale work of art to the city. This latest donation is part of his ongoing effort to enhance public spaces and promote the kinetic art movement in Venezuela, offering a visual feast of colors, shapes, and movement to all who pass by. The new sculpture, titled "Baruta Loves Art," was created in collaboration with fellow artist Félix Murillo and was sponsored by Publicidad Edison CA, a company dedicated to supporting the arts.
The sculpture has been installed in the Alfredo Sadel Plaza in Las Mercedes, where it joins the Urban Museum that was inaugurated last December. Pérez Mora was a key figure in that project as well, having donated a monumental 40-meter kinetic artwork titled "Colors Between Rhythmic Lines."
Despite being a self-taught artist with only five years in the field, Pérez Mora has quickly established himself as a significant figure in kinetic art. He is endorsed by UNESCO and the International Association of Art (IAA) through the Venezuelan Association of Plastic Artists (AVAP). His work has been exhibited in 50 national and international venues, including museums, art centers, galleries, hotels, and prestigious universities. He has also received six awards from various foundations and associations, further solidifying his reputation as an artist of international caliber.
In addition to his recent work in Alfredo Sadel Plaza, Pérez Mora has also contributed a 15-meter permanent installation titled "La Naturaleza Vibrante" at the Alejandro Otero Museum (MAO). This piece, donated as part of his 2022 solo exhibition, continues to captivate visitors.
Looking ahead, Pérez Mora is working on a new sculpture titled "Temptation in Motion," which will be permanently installed at the entrance to the Manzanares Urbanization. This project, initiated by Baruta Mayor Darwin González and Director of the Office Claudio Ripa, aims to further enhance the public spaces of the municipality, continuing Pérez Mora’s mission of bringing kinetic art to the forefront of Venezuelan culture.
