Chile Sports Minister says National Stadium Park for Santiago 2023 is "86 per cent complete"
Alexandra Banado, Chile's Sports Minister, has said that the National Stadium Park, close to being finished, will be the first venue to be delivered before this year's Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
Speaking during a tour of the key venues, Banado said work on the National Stadium Park, which will form the centrepiece of the Games, was "86 per cent advanced, so we believe that it should be the first work to be delivered."
The Minister added that, despite the fact that the work on the sports venue is being completed, it is not contemplated that it will be used for massive events before the Pan American Games, which are due to take place from October 20 to November 5, with the Parapan American Games scheduled from November 17 to 26.
"There are eight works being developed here, which involves a complex security issue that we are assessing together with our athletes," she said.
"We have a lot of rules about entering and leaving, so it is impossible to hold big events in the National Stadium Coliseum." Read More..
