Ana Brnabić: Pleased with Opposition Inclusion in Parliamentary Delegation
Ana Brnabić, President of the National Assembly of Serbia, expressed her satisfaction in Berlin today over the inclusion of an opposition member in Serbia's official parliamentary delegation to Germany for the first time.
"I sent an invitation to all parliamentary groups that, if they want to be members of my delegation as the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, to submit their candidates, to propose someone," Brnabić explained, extending her gratitude to MP Vladimir Đorđević for joining the delegation.
Brnabić emphasized the importance of demonstrating a "minimum level of respect" towards all citizens of Serbia, noting that the parliament represents the entire nation, not just the government and ruling coalition. She highlighted the significance of parliamentarians working together to represent Serbia as a whole.
Brnabić pointed out that in the past, opposition deputies were not invited to join official parliamentary delegations during visits by the President of the National Assembly. She intends to change this practice, advocating for greater inclusion and transparency.
"For the sake of transparency, I think it is honest, fair and in the best interest of all our citizens. We are here in the parliament to represent Serbia," Brnabić concluded.
